Question on power steering pump?

When it gets hot out my 2001 power steering pump shutters, I was wondering if a pump from a 2003 or newer had taken care of this.Looking at a deal for a good used one._Ron

There is an upgraded pump for 2001's which will help, and many also recommend a half inch shorter serpentine belt.

sometimes changing the fluid will do wonders...

I did the fluid change last year. Did good until summer hit. I might try the cooler change first and the new pump. I think that after 149,000 miles, it couldn't hurt to have a different pump._Ron
