Greetings from sunny Florida. I recently acquired a 2004 Adrenaline Edition Sport Trac

that my son abandoned about a year ago. Many of the fun little gadgets that the truck has no longer work. It needed tires, front end work, and a battery. When the Serpentine Belt Tensioner pulley seized he gave up on it and it became my project. I fixed those issues and drove it home from up north last week for a spare vehicle.

Funny thing happened...somewhere along this little journey, the truck has grown on me. Now it's a project that I can't seem to stop tinkering with. It has 150000 miles but now runs and looks great.

It's been neglected for years but I think it'll be a fun project if I can figure out where to stop. Major issues are a headliner, broken power window , Goofy power locks, a seat warmer with a mind of its own, and a gas gauge that sometimes works.

Gave the truck its first wax in over7 years that I know of, and polished the headlights (rubbing compound). Now to get a price on a headliner.

Good lookin' SportTrac!
Welcome to the Herd; lots of friendly knowledgable folk in these forums.

Watch out for rust on those RunningBoards;
ate up identical ones on my 2001; removed them & actually like the look better.

Consider swappping the notorious leaking JunkPlastic ThermoStatHousing
to an Aluminum version.

Change those 2 notorious OilPressurized TimingTensioners every 12yrs\100kMiles,
before they fail & cause the LeftFront &\or RightRear TimingGuides to fail.
Oil+Filter changes every 6mths\4kMiles will also help prevent Tensioner failure.

Also do a full Transmission service every 32kMiles\4Yrs:
* PanDrop + ValveBodyBolt Retorq
* New Filter + PanGasket + 5~7qt MerconV
* Band Adjust
5r55e Transmission is notorious for failing after 100kMiles if not routinely serviced.

Again, welcome!
