power tailgate lock

I added a power tailgate lock today.I hot glued a piece of 1/8" plexiglas to put an extension onto the lock lever.The actuator came from a wrecked sport trac;rear passenger door.I had to cut into the tailgate to install it. Turned out really good.Operates smoothly.Pictures:

Ingunuity, I would be afraid that the plexiglass may break or the hot glue turn loose. I hope not..

If it is Lexan plexiglass it will not break. You might want to drill and place 3 small self tapping screws.
