Power locks unlock but dont lock

I have a 2001 and when you press the lock button on the doors, the remote and the keypad outside all you get is a click on the passenger side lower dash area. I was wondering if anyone knew a fix to this.

It sounds like the door lock control module has gone out. I think it's called the "Security Module" which is located under the dash towards the passenger side. If it was just a simple switch on the drivers door, then the other door lock switches and remote would still work.

Well the gremlin must have gotten me finally after 4 years of ownership, after the truck ran the locks work just fine.

Check your battery and terminal connections. It may be due for replacement.

Taket Paul makes a very good point. Be sure your battery is taking and holding a full charge. Many electronic devices operate irradically if the battery is weak or going bad, especially with security systems.

When the battery started going bad in my '04. That was the first gremlins, the door locks acting up..
