:banghead:today as i back out the yard i heard a popping noise it kinda sounded as if i had loose suspension i got looked nothing appears out of sorts >>>i have not been able to replicate>>>> i am sure this will not go away on its own so >>> any input would be great

Assuming you've checked all the other suspension components. End links, leaf bushings, etc.

2001 ST's are notorious for deteriorated body mounts. Particularly the #3 passengers side.

Here's another link. Search the "Noise, Vibration, Harshness" category.

There was a TSB on it. Sounds very labor intensive, and difficult. GL

If you were backing out with steering turned all the way. It could be the steering stops are dry. Try putting some grease on them. Maybe someone can post a pic.

Eddie is correct, and swshawaii provided a photo of the steering stops. This is a metal-to- metal contact and they should have a libral amount of grease to prevent loud creaking and poping noises when you have the wheel turned to the max and you go over a small bump like a driveway ramp.

For Rod's sake, hope it's dry steering stops, and not body mounts.

Replacing them sounds like one of the most difficult jobs possible.
