Could someone help please? Gf's moms 02 ST will not go into 4wd.The 4wd lights

Do not turn on,also they will not light when vehicle is started as manual says they

Will.Any help is greatly appreciated!

I've never had a 4x4, but having been on this forum for a while I'd say the issue is either the control module or the transfer case servo motor. Check YouTube for some DIY videos.

This was just covered in another post here. If you do not hear the module clicking, and have no dash lights, more than likely, it's the 4x4 control module, located behind the trim panel in the passenger footwell.



If you hear the module clicking, but it does not go into 4x4, then check the transfer case servo motor. If it has not been used for a while, like over the summer, it can get stuck. A LIGHT tap on the motor may free it up. Also check all the connections for corrosion.
