PCM's -ever been currious whats goin on in the mind of a sport trac

I have a collection of Sport trac/ explorer PCM's and was curious what was going on inside that metal Faraday cage...



Apparently they are made by motorola and they are sprayed by some sort of polyurethane I assume to keep the corrosion out...

these are from a 2001 GEN 1 V6 sport trac JOB 2 which is interesting considering the manufacturing date of 1999...

Funny thing is. That board has more processing power than early PC's...

-I ended up with 3 at the end of the V8 swap... the Original, A 1998 Mercury Mountaineer v8, and a 2000 explorer V8(the one I am using).

Nice. I know the 4x4 module is also made by Motorola and I guess a lot of other parts. I guess they had the contract.
