well fellas, i sold the truck, im very sad to say it, i cried.... i know.... but anyway i will still be on here from time to time, the truck went to a guy in town and he takes care of it (by wich i mean drive the piss out of it like me) and that makes me happy, but i got a 2010 mazdaspeed 3, great car, but the trac was the best first vehicle i could have asked for, and it will be missed by me and all my buddies, it was literally a legend in my home town...

but my new car is quickly making a name for itself as well!

some stats- front wheel drive (fail) 265hp/280lb ft, handles on rails, i have a short ram intake and new intercooler pipeing as well as gutted cat and no muffler... sounds mean, christmas will bring me the 3 inch turbo back exhaust and pouder coated wheels, with a hefty contribution of my own to help with the funding...

very nice choice.

they look awesome not to mention they are quick :driving:

show us pics after you get the wheels

Honestly, I could not go back to driving a car. I know thos MS3's are cool, but it is still a car.

Really nice car Graham, :supercool: wish you the best of luck with it. I suppose we could have a token Mazda owner on here! Just remember to call one of us when you get stuck in the snow....Bob :grin:

Same car (& colour) as my girlfriend.

I really like the car though. Lots of fun to drive and she absolutely loves it too.

I love driving cars. Cars that I fit in, that is. And I'm getting to the point where driving in a car in traffic on city streets is not comfortable. Racetracks is another issue altogether. But trucks fit me in so many ways.

Sad to see another one go, but glad for the fun it looks like you'll be having.

My wife and I looked at those when we bought her 2010 STi.

Personally I like the look of the Mazda speed 3 better that the STi but the AWD and the 305hp won us over again lol.

not even a 13 second escort or a convertAble :bwahaha:

Nope.

I was going to write something about how a little car is nice and fun until some Lexus (it's always a Lexus driver, I've noticed) SUV cuts your little car in half and you too. I didn't, because I thought it might get taken the wrong way. But obviously I'm not the only one who has been on (or way too close to) the losing end of a small car vs. SUV/truck/(mini)van crash. I'm not comfortable either driving my beloved Mustang on the streets, when 90% of the other vehicles on those streets are bigger, stronger, have bumpers at my face level and drivers who seem to want to crash into me.

I love the acceleration and handling that a necessarily small sports car gives. But I simply can't enjoy those g-forces when I'm constantly on the lookout for all those SUV/truck/(mini)van drivers with murder in their hearts. The Thunderbird is a total loss, demolished by a (you guessed it) Lexus SUV driver. I'm still debating the fate of my amazingly resilient Mustang. My two choices are to sell it or trailer it to Road America, where I can drive it in peace with other skilled driving enthusiasts who can and do follow safety rules.

I wish you the very best Graham. I pray that I never see your sporty-economy sedan on the news with a reporter saying "the force of the crash literally cut the car in half..." as I do at least once a week, on the local TV news alone. But like dreman, I'll be content to suffer the heavier, mushier, taller ST experience to be rid of the constant feeling of dread that now comes with driving a sports coupe on public roads.

imo, you cant go thru life with those thoughts.

first, most newer vehicles are built well enough to protect the occupants in a collision. sure injuries and deaths are going to occur in ANY vehicle, but as long as you are wearing seatbelts, deaths are minimized by the better safety designs.

just my thoughts
