painting flames

i have recntly took the throttle body cover off my engine and painted it blue and clear coated it ...it looks wonderful but i'm wanting to paint some tribal flames on it but dson't know aht to use does anyone have an idea on how to tape off and what type of paint

Jim says the best way is to use 1/16 inch fine lineto tape the design. Or if you can get some low tac contact paper (you can check with a vinyl sign cutter). After applying the low tack vinyl you would cut the design out with a new razor blade don't cut into the paint. Type of paint must be the same that you based the cover with. If you use a different type of paint one may heat differently and wrinkle the other paint. If you have other questions you may email me and I can pass the questions onto Jim.
