Hey I'm just wondering if anyone has seen this before and what it could be? I have been noticing a fuel smell on the outside of my truck still trying to find out what that is from. but I took a look at the bottom of the tank and it looks like there's some kind of oil coming down to the bottom of the tank and pooling. It's yellow_ish and goopy could this be fuel?l

Do you ever try to "squeeze" more gas into the tank when refilling? Not recommended because of the various emission control components in the fuel system. Sounds like you need to inspect the hoses from underneath. It could be something as simple as a cracked hose that's allowing some gas to leak. The goop you're seeing could be gas softening some undercoating or adhesive.

This may be a WAG but I had yellowish color liquid on the bottom of my fuel tank. It was a cracked t-stat housing and the blow by was reaching the fuel tank.
