An interesting editorial on Obama. I find it unsettling how little we seem to know about a candidate for President of the United States. I don't know about the accuracy of this editorial, but that's the point, nobody else seems able to verify or dispute.

All this propaganda tells me that the GOP is scared to death that they will be removed from the White House.

Tom

And all this "poo-pooing" of the questions raised about Obama obviously means there's something to hide.

If the man's such a great candidate for President, what's he and all the rest of the liberal left afraid of? A little examination? God forbid we should want to know everything we can about someone who wants to be the next President.

Facts are facts. The man attended an Islamic school, has been photographed in Islamic attire, participates in the National Anthem when "he feels like it," yet says he's a Christian and a patriot. What should we believe? And what's the harm in wanting to know?

Face it, the prophesy has been foretold!

And it came to pass, in the eighth year of the reign of the evil Bush the Younger (The Ignorant), when the whole land from the Arabian desert to the shores of the Great Lakes had been laid barren, that a Child appeared in the wilderness.

The Child was blessed in looks and intellect. Scion of a simple family, offspring of a miraculous union, grandson of a typical white person and an African peasant. And yea, as he grew, the Child walked in the path of righteousness, with only the occasional detour into the odd weed and a little blow.

When he was twelve years old, they found him in the temple in the City of Chicago, arguing the finer points of community organisation with the Prophet Jeremiah and the Elders. And the Elders were astonished at what they heard and said among themselves: “Verily, who is this Child that he opens our hearts and minds to the audacity of hope?”

In the great Battles of Caucus and Primary he smote the conniving Hillary, wife of the deposed King Bill the Priapic and their barbarian hordes of Working Class Whites.

And so it was, in the fullness of time, before the harvest month of the appointed year, the Child ventured forth - for the first time - to bring the light unto all the world.

He travelled fleet of foot and light of camel, with a small retinue that consisted only of his loyal disciples from the tribe of the Media. He ventured first to the land of the Hindu Kush, where the

Taleban had harboured the viper of al-Qaeda in their bosom, raining terror on all the world.

And the Child spake and the tribes of Nato immediately loosed the Caveats that had previously bound them. And in the great battle that ensued the forces of the light were triumphant. For as long as the Child stood with his arms raised aloft, the enemy suffered great blows and the threat of terror was no more.

From there he went forth to Mesopotamia where he was received by the great ruler al-Maliki, and al-Maliki spake unto him and blessed his Sixteen Month Troop Withdrawal Plan even as the imperial warrior Petraeus tried to destroy it.

And lo, in Mesopotamia, a miracle occurred. Even though the Great Surge of Armour that the evil Bush had ordered had been a terrible mistake, a waste of vital military resources and doomed to end in disaster, the Child's very presence suddenly brought forth a great victory for the forces of the light.

And the Persians, who saw all this and were greatly fearful, longed to speak with the Child and saw that the Child was the bringer of peace. At the mention of his name they quickly laid aside their intrigues and beat their uranium swords into civil nuclear energy ploughshares.

From there the Child went up to the city of Jerusalem, and entered through the gate seated on an ass. The crowds of network anchors who had followed him from afar cheered “Hosanna” and waved great palm fronds and strewed them at his feet.

In Jerusalem and in surrounding Palestine, the Child spake to the Hebrews and the Arabs, as the Scripture had foretold. And in an instant, the lion lay down with the lamb, and the Israelites and Ishmaelites ended their long enmity and lived for ever after in peace.

As word spread throughout the land about the Child's wondrous works, peoples from all over flocked to hear him; Hittites and Abbasids; Obamacons and McCainiacs; Cameroonians and Blairites.

And they told of strange and wondrous things that greeted the news of the Child's journey. Around the world, global temperatures began t

I am curious as to why religion is so important to the folks who oppose Obama. The religious right is done. They weild no power now, and it has been discounted that Obama is a Muslim. (ridiculous)

People get wrapped up with issues that do not really matter. What do we need as a nation right now? Our economy sucks, gas prices have more than doubled, healthcare is 2x higher, our standing in the world is severely damaged, housing is a national emergency, etc etc

Who gives a flying crap if a candidate is Evangelical?

You arent gonna have a house, job, healthcare, or gas money if you put in another Jesus freak.

Wake up people!! Obama is gonna win, even most of the right knows we need someone who isnt out of touch. You can keep trying to smear him...but it just makes you look bad.

And yours is ???

People get wrapped up with issues that do not really matter.

They do matter to those that don't blindly follow the duck in front of us. After all, if you

are not leading, the view never changes.

Frank, for those of us not in love with Obama, these are just some of the answers we are looking for.

Feel free to participate by providing your insight to these questions...

The phrase "balanced opinion" is an oxymoron. An opinion wouldn't be an opinion if it were balanced.

From the Merriam-Webster Dictionary:

Main Entry: 2editorial

Function: noun

Date: 1830

: a newspaper or magazine article that gives the opinions of the editors or publishers; also : an expression of opinion that resembles such an article <a television editorial>

Frank then said:

Hmmm..

According to a CNNMoney.com story published today, gas prices have continued to fall for the last 13 days.

-I keep looking, but I can't find anything in the Contitution defining healthcare as a function of the Federal gov't.

-How exactly is our standing in the world damaged? Who's leading the Global War on Terrorism? Who would the entire world look to in the event of the rise of another evil empire like Nazi Germany, Imperial Japan, or the USSR for help and salvation? Who does the rest of the world look to every time there's a natural disaster like a tsunami, hurricane, earthquake, etc.? Who is the rest of the world looking to to clean up and save places like Darfur? It sure as heck wouldn't aint' France, or even the UN! The UN wouldn't continue to exist if the USA withdrew its membership!.

-Calling housing a "national emergency" way overexaggerating the situation. Despite all the media and politician's hype to the contrary, the national foreclosure rate is between four and five percent. The bill recently passed was nothing more than a vote-buying scheme by politicians. All it is going to do is re-distribute wealth from the remainin 96% who made good decisions with regard to their mortgage loans and give it to the 4-5% who made poor ones. Once again, the achievers who made good decisions and work hard are being punished.

Frank finally said:

Who gives a flying crap if a candidate is Evangelical?

You arent gonna have a house, job, healthcare, or gas money if you put in another Jesus freak.

These two statements completely contradict each other. If you don't give a "flying crap" if a candidate is Evangelical, then why are you so concerned about a "Jesus freak" being elected that you have to predict doom and gloom if that happens?

More gloom and doom from the liberals.

Our country remains the best country in the world for standard of living and security.

Our economy is strong. Our inflation is minimal. Our employment rate is high. Our schools are good. Our housing is good. Our healthcare system is the best in the world. Our standard of living is the highest - even our poor have cell phones, Air Jordans, Cadillacs, cable tv, air conditioning, eat out at restaurants, and gold jewelry. We have opportunity for everyone. We have freedom.

Frank, if you haters don't like the US, please get the hell out ASAP.

You US bashers make me want to vomit. I am sure most of our service men and women now an in the past would also like to spit in your face.

Whining and bitching and calling names with no action and no personal responsibility makes me sick.

Don't worry, our country won't go to hell in a handbasket just because of Obama. There are plenty of checks and balances, and we also have enough fruitcakes who will take care of it if the checks and balances do not.

It's comical how the left asserts that the election is a done deal, with Obama winning.

As it's said in sports when everyone assumes a specific outcome, "It's why they play the games." We have elections in this country for a reason---to determine a winner. People who hand a candidate (or in sports, a team---right, New England fans?) an assumed victory often end up looking very foolish.

Electing a leader is all about trust. Most people seem to have forgotten that. Can you trust Obama? Can you really trust the man?

In my opinion the question would be can you trust Obama more than you trust McCain? And my answer would be: Yes

McCain = McBush and I don't trust either of them....and i'm from Texas!

Just how is obama going to fix these things, well besides hope.

Lil Red,

Instead of making that generalizing statement, can you look at John McCain individually? Take into account his character, and his accomplishments throughout his life, both personally and professionally. Look at him in that respect, and then see if you find specific reasons to distrust him.

Right on, TrainTrac.

Look at both men's lives and careers. Look at their voting records and their accomplishments. Their past records are the best indicators of their future actions.

The most scary thing is, we have millions of people in the U.S.A and these 2 candidates are the best we could come up with? McCain has 1 foot in the grave, and Obama has no experience, and who knows what his real intentions are. Every time I hear him speak on TV I always wonder what in the hell was his point, and what does that have to do with what he is going to accomplish. So far I have come up with Obama will raise taxes, take away the right to bear arms ( well try to), he says he wants to fix health care, but he never talks about how he will do it.

This election will be like the last election which candidate is the lesser of two evils. However due to Obama's skin color we will see record turnouts at the polls, which I feel might elect the wrong person. And I know this may not be the "politically correct" way to say that, but it is the truth. We have some people ( not real intelligent) where I work wearing "Obama for President" hats and I have asked some of them why they would want Obama to be president, and they all said the same thing, and I quote "because he is a brotha"
