New Tires

so the time has come for me to get new tires for the first time. my Hankook Ventus have lasted me 40,000 miles but i noticed yesterday the front 2 have wires peeking out already so i wont be driving it til i get new ones. so i have a question.....i currently have 265/40/22.....would it be possible to go a little wider to 285/40/22? i want them a little wider but im not sure how wide i can go with my wheels...

Check your rim width. Look at the specs page of the tire you choose. It will give you the info of minimum and max rim width for the tire.

285/40 will also be taller than 265/40. You may have to try 285/35.
