I agree Dave, its like an electronic leash at times, but being out in the field away from my office, its damn near a necessity anymore, I would work 3 times the hours I do now, if I weren't able to check email and get calls out in the field, which would suck bigtime, so the sacrifice is worth it to me (most of the time)...

Regarding the Motorola "8000 DynaTac". OKA, "The Brick".

Wasn't a "rotary dial" an option back then?

P.S.- Reason I remember that first cell phone ($3K @ $1 per minute in 1983 dollars)

Dropped it on my bare foot at the beach. Still limping today. Never happened again. LOL

Not only $1 per minute but if you callled someone else with a cell, THEY got charged $1 per min AS WELL!!!!!!!

not my choice, but my boss told me to as i still like the "old" basic small cell.
