need help with subwoofer

My sub started rattling really hard today... I checked the bolfs that hold everything and its all tight... is the speaker bad... if so is it an 8 inch speaker... its the stock adrenalin sub

Crutchfield sells stock replacement parts now? I don't mean to sound like a douche, but your answer was a little vague and not really helpful.

I am not familiar with the stock subwoofer, but can you get to the speaker itself? Sometimes you can tell if a speaker is blown by pressing in on the cone gently. If you feel scratching or uneven resistance, chances are it is blown. Is the surround (foam) around the cone intact? Does the rattle happen at all volume levels?

i pulled out the speaker and the rubber ring around the cone is shreaded so i ordered a new 8" sub speaker to replace it

What speaker did you end up getting? Were you able to match the ohm rating, wattage and airspace requirements?

i got a PYLE PLBW84 8" sub which matches the ohms at 4 per coil the wattage on this one is higher than the factory the airspace requirements are within a .02 cubic foot stock wattace was 50w per coil and the new is 300 per coil

installed it today and it sounds amazing

could have been, the rubber ring around the speaker wasnt even attached on the outside only on the cone
