It took 6 1/2 years and 76,000 miles for the elbow to crack. I know a lot of times it cracks on the bottom side but mine is cracked on the top.
So thanks to this website and my fellow members, I knew what to check and was able to pass on the info to the guys at Aamco in Harbor City, CA. Ted and Al seem like nice guys who do the free code read and will tell you what to check for if you want to do the work yourself (no high pressure sales tactics). They are looking for repeat customers.
