This is pretty amazing!

I was surprised how this worked. Be honest and don't look at the movie

list till you have done the math!

Try this test and find out what movie is your favorite. This amazing math

quiz can likely predict which of 18 films you would enjoy the most. Don't

ask me how, but it really works!

Movie Quiz:

Pick a number from 1-9.

Multiply by 3.

Add 3.

Multiply by 3 again.

Now add the two digits together to find your predicted favorite movie in

the list of 18 movies below.

Movie List:

1. Gone With The Wind

2. E.T.

3. Beverly Hills Cop

4. Star Wars

5. Forrest Gump

6. The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly

7. Jaws

8. Grease

9. The Defeat of Obama in 2012

10. Casablanca

11. Jurassic Park

12. Shrek

13. Pirates of the Caribbean

14. Titanic

15. Raiders Of The Lost Ark

16. Home Alone

17. Mrs. Doubtfire

18. Toy Story

:bwahaha:

This must be a Republican joke or wish, depending on how you look at it. I think it will be the hit of 2012.

PS: I tried all numbers from one to nine. Spooky, just spooky. Bob

Ladies and Gentleman,

This is the best the consertives have. We are doomed for sure.

Agreed, Caymen. Notice how it's the conservatives who have so little understanding of rudimentary mathematics that they find it amazing that the value can be predicted.

By the way--for me, this calculator predicted that my favorite movie is Casablanca. I've never seen it--but seeing that it apparently is my favorite movie, I think I'm going to have to check it out pretty soon...

"Pick a number from 1-9."

I chose pi, which I rounded to 3.14159. Note that it never said the number needs to be an integer.

"Multiply by 3."

3.14159 * 3 = 9.42477

"Add 3."

9.42477 + 3 = 12.42477

"Multiply by 3 again."

12.42477 * 3 = 37.27431

"Now add the two digits together to find your predicted favorite movie in the list of 18 movies below."

Because they specified "two digits", I'm going to assume they mean the two digits preceding the decimal point. So...

3 + 7 = 10, and therefore my favorite movie is Casablanca.

Ah, the power of number nine. We need another one based on the equally-classic "Four is the magic number" trick.

Honestly, I'm glad that this was rigged for movie 9, as there are some others I would not want to pick. BTW, which Star Wars?

There are only 2 others on the list that I would pick. Most of the others are actually worse than the Obama 2009 Inauguration Speech. IMO, of course...you could disagree, but then your opinion would be wrong :banana:

9. The Defeat of Obama in 2012

Bill V,

Here is something interesting about your numbers...

37.27431

3+7+2+7+4+3+1=27

2+7=9

Don't ya just hate it when that happens?

As with most political points of view, no matter which side you're on, the facts can be twisted to substantiate your argument.

Touche. :)

Although even that will vary depending on how many digits you round to...

37 ==> 10 Casablanca

37.3 ==> 13 Pirates of the Caribbean, or 13 ==> 4 Star Wars

37.27 ==> 19 ==>10 Casablanca

37.274 ==> 23 ==> 5 Forrest Gump

37.2743 ==> 26 ==> 8 Grease

37.27433 ==> 29 ==> 11 Jurassic Park (Note that the prior "37.27433" resulted from starting with a rounded value for pi. Using a longer version, and then rounding the final answer instead, yields this slightly different result.)

37.274334 ==> 33 ==> 6 The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

37.2743339 ==> 41 ==> 5 Forrest Gump

37.27433388 ==> 48 ==> 12 Shrek, or 12 ==> 3 Beverly Hills Cop

37.274333882 ==> 50 ==> 5 Forrest Gump

37.2743338823 ==> 53 ==> 8 Grease

etc....
