NASA recently recalculated their figures sans Y2K bug and found that 1934 was the warmest year on record since records have been kept.
In 1934 the world had a lot less people, no SUV's, most people either walked or took mass transit to work (if they didn't work on a farm), and horse-drawn buggies were still common in much of the country.

Dealing wih global warming.
If the earth gets warmer, drink the beer faster so it doesn't get hot
