Maintenance gone awry

Over the weekend I did some basic cleanup on my 2002 st, changed fuel filter, Cleaned thottle body and cleaned IAC motor and installed a e-bay special $14.00 air cleaner. When I was finished it seems like at 2000-2500 rpm it has a hesitation and it seems to be confussed about what gear to be in. The weirdest thing is I am getting a noise,sounds like someone hitting the side of a plastic bucket emminating through the new aircleaner setup. Open to suggestions.

Put the stock air filter back on it.

Yep, start there to simly see if that is the issue or not...

The glue holding the filter media most likly went south allowing the filter to block off airflow.
