Yes the doors are closed. And parts are very few these days too. But the group is now called the Ford Performance Group. They will still use the SVT name but kind of under new management.

SVO died and SVT came to life. SVT died and Ford Performance Group came to life.

Do we see a pattern here?

Has anyone actually fallen?

No one has really fallen, the upper ups have changed and the names have changed, but Ford has been offering performance parts under different names for decades, mostly to the Mustang camp. In a few more years we'll have a new "brand" of performance parts. I just wish Ford would make up their mind and stick to a name, it doesn't inspire much consumer confidence.

John Coletti was the driving force behind SVT. Once he retired so did the brand. There really hasn't been an SVT vehicle since the 2004 SVT Mustang Cobra and 2004 SVT F-150 Lightning. The Ford GT supercar was supposedly developed by SVT but was not branded as an SVT vehicle. The GT500 Mustang is branded as a Shelby "Powered by SVT". Big difference. I don't think there have been any performance enthusiasts with much clout since Coletti and Chris Theodore left the company. Theodore works for Saleen now, if that tells you anything.
