lock factory crossbars

Can anyone think of a way to make the factory crossbars a little harder to remove. I got myself a set and want to use them for my cargo basket but they are so easy to remove that it would make it so easy to steal anything mounted to them. I'm don't really need them to lock but I'm looking for an idea on how to maybe make it more of pain to remove them.

LOL, that's the same thing I found out AFTER I bought a set of OEM bars. WHY would Ford not make them locking, IDK.



I sold them.......... Let's make a notice. Maybe it'll help someone else.

Get a lock down cable from one of the big companies that make the aftermarket racks.

Oh cool, I found something called a lash lock. I could use this to lash the basket to the rails. I mean you can still cut through the rails but at least it makes it harder to steal.

i exchanged the hand knob bolt for a hex bolt.. not too many people carry tools to undo them. but yea, a lock would have been nice.
