Key question

Forgive me if this is a duplicate, but I can't find my specific situation. Have 2001. About a month ago, started having problems with key fob working. Sometimes it would, sometimes it wouldn't, other times it would work if I pressed the button enough times. Changed the battery, no difference. Got my second key fob, which I very rarely use, and got the same thing.



Because of this, I'm thinking there is something else going on other than a problem with the actual fob, such as with the locking mechanism itself, or maybe a fuse. (I haven't changed the fuse, but did check it - appeared good to me).

Try programing the fob as the manual again. I have seen that work. If it doesnt, it could be the module. Or the fob if it is aftermarket.

might be able to obtain another fob from a salvage yard for $10+ at times.
