KEY FOB (REMOTE DOOR UNLOCK)

I Was recently in question wither my 02'ST was equipped with keyless entry. So i could buy a FOB off ebay .It was getting annoying unlocking the doors by hand for passengers and my gf.

Considering I am the second owner the first owner probly lost it or didn't give it back to the dealership. So im going to let you guys know how i did mine because i found all info on this subject to be pretty hard to find.

Toggle your ignition with the KEY in it about 8 to 10 times if the doors lock then CONGRATS you have keyless.

Then i purchased my fob from user /lgblady8 on ebay , item arrived in 2 days. Any FORD FOB will work as long as it has 3 buttons.

Not exactly ANY but most of the later models will.

Here's a little info I gathered when looking for remotes for my vehicles and trying to determine if one remote could operate multiple vehicles.

I also have a 4 Button remote that works my 98 F150, 99 Mustang, 01 Sport Trac, 08 E250, my Moms 05 Escape an my uncles 03 F150. Therefore I suppose the above 3 button list, in its entirety, applies to this 4 button remote also. The 4 button remote bears these numbers:

The '91 & older car and '95 & older truck remotes will not AFAIK. My buddy's 91 Mustang's remote does nothing on the later vehicles......

The four-button FOB will work also. The fourth button will just be inactive. I have all my remotes programmed to both my vehicles. I have a Sport Trac and an Expedition. The Trac has a 3-button and the Ex has a 4-button remote.
