After 9 years the factory CD player bit the dust. Decided to replace with a Double Din unit with HD radio and Bluetooth to make like a little more enjoyable. Bought it locally with the adapter and dash kit will reuse factory speakers for a bit. Prices wee same as Crutchfield and it was in stock, Crutchfield was out of stock.
Got is home soldered wiring harnesses pulled factory radio and went to hook it up and guess what wrong wiring adapter:angry: back to stereo store to exchange adapter and then back home 50 mile round trip solder and shrink new harness. Now for the trimming fun about a hour with the dremel and a few test fits later is in in and working so the last step is to run the mike wire from the back of the unit to the corner of the overhead console under the dash thru the glove box and up the passengers A pillar. Made a few calls and works flawlessly! Unit looks good and sounds great total cost with adapter, kits and taxes was $280. Waited too long to do it but wanted a warm day and garage was full of mustangs. Total time to install without 1.5 hour road trip for correct harness was about 2 hours not too bad only do about one every 4 years or so. Pictures to follow ran out of light yesterday...
