This is an article I just ran across. I don't think the full benefits of Mr. Mulally and those he has brought to Ford will be apparent for a few more years, but they seem to be on the right path.
 
Interesting that the common man thinks that listening to the customers and giving them what they want is the only way to do business.



On the other hand, the majority of CEO's feel they know better and they give the customers something. If they don't like it, the CEo's slash jobs and say the market is bad.



That was Fords problem for the past 10 years. At one time, 5 of the top 10 selling cars in the USA were Fords.



Ford redesigned stuff and sales slipped. They did not say "What did we do wrong?", they continued to produce vehicles nobody wanted. Sales continued to slip. they still continued to produce cars nobody wanted.



They know better than the consumer does.
