Hello all. I have a 05 st xlt, and a chance to buy the hypertech 43007 for a great price. Does anyone have one or know how well it works or what all it can do for my truck? I just wanna see if it be a wise purchase. Does it affect warrenties or emissions testing.

It's going to be difficult getting an unbiased opinion on the Hypertech, with the following the SCT Xcal has here.

FPN/Unleashed Tuning (Torrie) also being a MAJOR site sponsor, arguably the best SCT tuner, will also influence opinions heavily.

Most here will say SCT or nothing. I agree, although I never tried the Hypertech. Good Luck.

I agree I would but money is tight and its a amazing price, I hope I can get some good info.

I dont own a tuner, nor do I run a tune in my ST, but in my humble opinion, the machine used to install, read, and adjust the tune is not as important as the person behind the machine that produces the custom tune.



The differences in the machines and how easy they are to use is an important factor, dont get me wrong, but I think the tune itself, and the person that has the experience in working with the details of our ST's is the key to a great tune.



Again, this is just an opinion. I do hope it works for you, as I am all about saving $$ when I can.

With the mods to my trac and the sct xcal3. Torries tunes definitly make a differnce. The only way to get the best out of it would be to dyno.

The only 2 dyno shops in my area, are to darn $$$$$$$$$$$. I would have to put a lean on my trac...:bwahaha:

Even the freinds in my town that have peformance cars, that need to be dyno'ed. Say they feel, riped off for the price. Even if dont let the guys do any tuning.:angry:

The closest shop charges $110 per pull or $300 for 3 without tuning. Rediculus.:angry:

I stoped by his shop one day. No cars in the garage. The owner and techs were just sitting around. He still wouldnt cut me a better price.:fire:

IMO, if you have idle time some $$ is better than none.
