How to take off side mouldings

I'm getting ready to do some refinishing on my truck, like my hood which my clear coat is peeling off, and the door side moldings have a bunch of dings/scratches on them so I thought I'de get that repainted while I paint my hood. So the question is how do you take them off?

I'm assuming your talking about the ones on the actual door. They are just held on with adhesives.

Yea the one on the door outside of the door.

Use a heat gun to soften adhesive and pull slowly. However it may crack the paint that is on there if it is bent too much. It may be easier to just have it taped off and have it prepped and painted on truck.
