Hood realignment

I had to replace the hood on my 2003 due to an accident. I Took the hood and hood hinges from a 2002. My only problem is the back edge where it rests on the rubber is a 1/4 inch lower than the sheet metal cowling area behind it.



The hinge slots where the four bolts screw into the firewall is pushed up all the way so the bracket won't go any higher. I've been scratching my head how to fix for days now and why it is not level in the back. Any suggestions, am I missing something?

Mine came that way from the factory (I bought it used) I loosened the bracket on the hood and shimmed under it with washers. Worked for me.
