head unit/stereo malfunction

I have a 2003 ST xlt. My head unit started acting like it was possessed by a ghost. It turned on and off and if It actually stayed on I would go to turn up the volume and it would start acting up again. Seems like a power issue. At times it would be on but no sound would come out of the speakers. When it is off there is nothing on the screen at all. I pulled it out and I didn't see any problems with the wires( nothing loose) but I'm no pro. I wrote the model number down if it helps. 3L2T-18C868-BA. Any suggestions? :cry:

How old is your battery? Strange thing start to happen when the battery is starting to give up the ghost.

I actually got a new battery about 3 months ago. It did start before I got the new battery. But it came on before. Now I got nothin! Would it be the head unit? Or wiring?
