Bought an 03 Sport Trac used for my daughter with 80,000 miles on it and now its at the 100,000 mile mark. I looked under the vehicle, but could not see any grease fittings for the ball joints, etc. Does the steering linkage require no mainteance like greasing?

Also what kind of mainteance is required for the transmission? Is there anything else I need to check at this mileage? I don't want her breaking down on the side of the road.

Thanks for the help

You are correct, there are no grease fittings.

The owner's manual calls for a transmission flush every 30,000 miles. Since you got it used, if there is no evidence that it has been done (absent proof, it is extremely unlikely), I would advise spending the extra money to have the pan dropped and filter changed before the tranny is flushed. Even so, at 100k if the fluid has never been flushed, the tranny is on borrowed time. Change the transfer case lube too if it is a 4x4.
