gen 2 badge removal

Here's my problem, I want to remove the sport trac badge off the bed of my '07, but there's two holes in the bed where it sticks in. Is there any thing I can use to plug the holes so I can use some touch up paint to paint over them? I was thinking about putting this on from the inside but I don't know if it will last. Any comments?

it will last. plumbers putty is the best. 4 years now and the crack in my drain in my upstairs bathroom still doesn't leak.

Have you considered using small panel grommets? If so...Check the Hillman bins at your local hardware store. I am using them to fill the holes left by my front license plate holder. These might work if you can match up the hole size with what you are looking for in terms of looks.
