FYI on the EC P0442

Been getting the EC P0442 and have had the the spare tire and the rear drivers side tire off several times looking for the loose hose connection. Finally I just took the gas cap off and cleaned up the gasket and the throat of the fill tube that runs to fuel tank. Used seafoam and about 6 qtips, so far so good. been a couple of days and no code yet and it usually only took a couple or 3 starts of the engine and it was back.

So FYI, if you get this code just go ahead and clean the gasket and fuel fill tube throat.

I had the same issue with my Trac and it was a dirty o-rind on the gas cap as well...

i just read error codes again even tho no ce light on, it is back. error code P0442. that and ec1000. cleared both and we will see what happens.

The P1000 is alwasy there when you clear codes and will not go away until all the monitors run...no big deal. IDK why people "clean" the gas cap seal...get a new gas cap
