Article states smaller trucks get better gas mileage...as we all know, that's not the case with our ST's....let's hope that is the case if they proceed.

I've never understood why our ST's get the same mileage as the Explorer

Now, if my 2003 can just make it to 2018...

Bo, underneath your ST IS an Explorer! Why expect mpg to be any better?

Dean - I would expect the ST to weigh less than the Explorer, so fuel mileage should at least be a bit better.

I've heard all my life to increase gas mileage, get rid of the extra stuff / weight in your trunk. The ST is missing half of the roof of an Explorer; that should be good for at least 100 pounds.

A true compact truck would be smaller than the sport trac. Maybe a transit connect platform ( isn't that just a focus platform? ) styled like a pickup, unibody, 4cyl and all. When I think compact truck, I think of the old datsun, toyota sr5, type of truck size, back to 1985.
