I'm looking at buying a 2008 Ford Edge Limited. Finding one with a navigation unit is tough, and then it costs $2k more than one without it. I'm thinking of buying one without, and trying to find one at a junk yard. Or, I could just put an aftermarket in. I'd rather go with the factory one, if I could find one used. It is the same unit used in the Lincoln MKX.

Thoughts?

2008 was still the old nav unit in the Edge. 2009 and newer get the hard drive based nav unit and it is a ton better than the old one, I've got a 2010 Edge with the nav, it's pretty sweet. The thing about getting the nav and putting it in is that all the navs had sync if I am not mistaken so you will need alot more than just the nav unit. I would put in a Pioneer unit as opposed to finidng a factory one.
