Factory SUB Dying -- replacement?

My xlt premium 6.5 inch sub out of my 2005 is going boom. Anyone know the specs on the stock amp and the stock sub?



Can I just pickup a decent 6.5 shallow mount and hookup to the factory amp to save some cash?

I have one of the factory subs that came in the adrenalin pack If you want to buy that one and the amp as well.

I had a shop tell me that an aftermarket sub will sound crappy. Use only the stock replacement. Said he had to change quite a few back. Dunno.
