Exhaust ?

Do you guys think a cat back exhaust from a 01 Lightning will work? Its 2 in and 2 out but I also have another option. I can do a magnaflow muffler that was also from the 01 Lightning and that is 1 in and 2 out. I know that some custom piping has to be done. If you guys/gals think it is possible, do you think it will be too loud? I will probably have it exit like the Lightning.

the 1 in 2 out will work we have this type of exhaust on ours we are running a 40 series flowmaster

A cat back exhaust kit from a Lightning will work but you will have to do the following to make it work correctly.



1 - modify it so that it's single in and dual exits.

2 - the length of the piping and routing will need to be modified.

3 - The muffler can needs to be dual exits



Lastly - I don't think it would be as loud as a lightning.



Your better off to take it to a custom muffler shop, a speed shop, and tell them to build it so it looks like the systems on a Lightning.

Thank you for the replies. Dennis and Susan, Did you notice any increase in hp/tq and gas mileage?

there was some increase in hp , mpg stayed about the same

Ours has been like that for about 4 yrs maybe more I don't even remember what it cost.

The factory muffler has been sitting in the shed for some time now. The magnaflow muffler has been sitting there as well for some time. I may just go with the magaflow and have them pipe it back to the stock location.

Mufflers are overrated So are catalytic converters and resonators...:lol:

LOL, I hear ya Jeff. I didnt have anything on the cobra and she sound so freakin good and loud.
