There was never a third tracking number listed on your website. According to U.P.S. every box should have had its own tracking number. I am attaching the packing slip to this e-mail. The description of the dvd47-z is listed as china, while the AVR 247-z is listed correctly. While this is all circumstantial at this point, I still dont have my DVD player that has been paid for.

Jason,

We are already aware of the issue with this shipment and the warehouse is currently working on getting this resolved. It appears as though the two shipments, on your two orders, have the tracking number mixed and the one item DVD 47-z, although shipped is missing and I am awaiting confirmation along with correct tracking # for the shipment. In our system currently it notes a tracking number for the other items you have already received.

As soon as I hear back from them I will let you know and provide tracking information. We do apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.

Sincerely

The package that ups called me about was a tracking number ending in 5403, your sales order of 1622427. This package has arrived in good condition. The package that is in question is your sales number 1622174. Of that shipment only the avr 247-z has arrived I am still missing the DVD 47-z that was on the same sales order receipt. I wish you would of called me as I have left my number to contact me. The time that was wasted on the other order 1622427 could of been avoided. Now it is 10 days later and I still dont have my DVD player it is getting to the point of being ridiculous. I have owned Harman equipment since the 1980s and expected service as good as the equipment you sell, for this I am very disappointed. If this issue is not resolved Thursday 2/19/09 I will be contacting e-bay and leaving negative feedback, calling my credit card company to do a fraud investigation and no longer specifying h&k products to my customers. So please lets get this issue resolved. You may contact me at 608-576-9646 at any time, if I can not answer the phone at the moment please leave a voice mail with a direct contact number that you can be reached at. I have already wasted to much time waiting on hold using your 516-682-6438 number. Thank You

Hello,

Thank you for your recent purchase from Harman Audio. I am very sorry to hear about your seeming to not have received your item. We do apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused. Since the UPS tracking of the shipment does indicate it was delivered to your location we will need to have UPS setup a tracer investigation on this so they can verify the delivery to your address. If they come back with results of the item missing or unable to provide confirmation of delivery we can then send out a replacement order to you. Typically they require up to 8 business days to report back their findings of the investigation and during that time they may send out a driver and/or contact you on this matter. When a replacement is shipped from our facility you will be notified by email of the new tracking number.

If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please let me know.

Sincerely

Dear harmanaudio,

I received the Harmon and Kardon 247 today as well as the Jbl spc6 that I had ordered a day later but I am still waiting for the DVD player to arrive. It seems that it was supposed to have shipped with 247 but according to ups each box should have its own tracking number. According to your website both the 247 and DVD player have the same confirmation number and same tracking number.

You have it marked as being paid for according to e-bay. I was just wondering what the status of this item is. please contact me at 608-576-9646 Thank you

sorry to hear about the jerk job you are getting. in most cases e-bay is good except for a few bad apples.

good luck

i will find out there address just no one buy from them they do not do business as we would like them to! buyers beware!!

J.Vocaty,

HarmanAudio seems like the all too typical high volume power seller. These guys typically are understaffed "ship to order" companies (using that term loosely) that pepper eBay with auctions and a storefront but don't actually have the items on hand. When their buyers wi an auction, typically with Buy-It-Now, they then broker the deal, having their supplier ship the items purchased.

They act as the middle man, and most of the times things work well.

However, in this dynamic the seller is auctioning things they don't have, and the warehouse that they speak of is a drop-ship distribution center. Because of this any issues that come up with shipping take some time to track down.

I suspect that's the type of seller you might be dealing with.

Good luck.

Thanks tom with the item description being shown as china i truly believe you are correct. I just don't want anyone else to have to deal with this issue and if you can spare a minute to mail them also! it would be greatly appreciated

:angry::angry::angry:

I had a similar problem and TJR is probably correct. I bought some 30/40 relays off an auction that said they ship from Los Angeles, California. Problem is (and I didn't check this at the time, but now I do) the actual seller was from Hong Kong. The warehouse was in LA. Took over 2 1/2 months to get them and it was only after e-mailing 6 times and turning him in to PayPal. How I found out he was from China was when he would send me an e-mail back (usually 5 days after I sent him one) it would be in Chinese. My EE would translate it for me. Lukily I did get them and in good condition.;)

You can't expect this type of seller to send out a new product just because the buyer said he didn't receive it. If that was the case then everyone would be pulling a scam buy one get one free. The delay sucks but I do think you have to allow for a proper investigation to find out where the item went. The investigation will determine who owes for the replacement product. The seller, shipper or buyer. There is always an expected level of risk with internet shopping and delayed shipping is at the top of that list of risks. To offset those risks you have greater choice in items, convenience from your chair, no taxes and I only purchase with free shipping or when the item plus shipping is still less than retail. I have also purchased from internet stores that drop ship from China and a 4-6 week shipping time is not to be unexpected.

Whats up with my title line?????

Anyhow, its ebay, what did you expect?

Bigger rip-off than Fanny Mar/Freddie Mac...

Correct. Which is why sellers, large or small, should make sure they send their products in some trackable fashion, whether that be UPS, USPS, or FedEx. The more expensive the product, the more the need for tracking and delivery assurance.

If the seller were able to effectively track the item, which it seems in this case they are having difficulty, then they would know whether or not it supposedly got delivered. In the case that it did NOT, then the seller should sent out a replacement ASAP. In the case that it was shown as delivered properly then an investigation with the delivery company should commence...and even in that case I don't see the issue with sending out a replacement.

If the buyer is pulling a fast one, it becomes evident down the road during the investigation.

J.Vocaty's transcript above has the seller indicating that there was a suspected shipping error that they are trying to correct. Correct-sha-mect! Send a replacement and get the error fixed after the fact.

If you treat every customer like a crook then soon your only customers will be crooks.

I'm not knocking eBay, or the model. Just certain sellers that have forgotten how to treat customers.

never a problem with ebay in the past 10 yrs, one rule I follow is NEVER deal with a drop shipper.

If the seller do's not have the item on hand and is shipping the item himself, I walk away.

Looks like i should of posted my issue on this site weeks ago you guys are great!! Here is the reply i got today.
John,

I am extremely sorry for the delay in getting this resolved for you. There have been numerous problem with the warehouse and getting this cleared along with working

With UPS to confirm if the item was picked up by them on shipment date. This is certainly not an excuse, but I do want you to know it had been a constant work in progress.

As of this time it has still not been cleared up, but I did receive approval to get another unit sent out to you, which has been processed and left the warehouse this morning.

UPS tracking # 1Z786Y210110681018. It may not be active at this time until UPS updates on their end. I had it sent out Next Day Air to you and I upgraded the unit a NEW product rather than the purchased remanufactured unit. Again I am sorry for the trouble. It should not have taken this long to resolved or to get out a second unit to you. I had been working within our normal business practices and policies, which obviously needs to be worked on to improve our overall service to our customers.

If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please let me know.

Sincerely

stonemiser I am wondering the same thing as his ten days for ebay to report to the safety and trust team is just about up.

Great. I have been waiting for the rest of an order placed three weeks ago with these guys.

Their update showed all itiems on one tracking number, but so far I have gotten three of the items from three different addresses/companies, and one came FedEx, one came US Snail, and the other one came UPS.

I have e-mailed asking about the fourth item and they will not respond to my E-mails. Of course the phone line is always busy, or wait wait wait if you do get through.

:(
