Diy bed extender/cargo cage

I have been doing some searching, but I haven't come across anyone who has made there own bed extender. Has anyone made one? is it just not cost effective? I was thinking maybe making one from conduit.

You can find them on Craigslist from $50 to $75 all day long. Attaching it wouldn't exactly be easy. I don't think you'd save any money with a DIY.

I agree with Hugh. There are way to many cheap used ones for sale that it's foolish to spend the time and effort to make your own. In fact I even have one for sale, but looking for someone in the Texas area to pick it up...I don't want to get involved in shipping it.

Yeah, that's what I figured. I have been looking on craigslist, but I haven't found anything cheap. I'll just have to keep an eye out.
