Curt Class III hitch won't fit on my 01 ST

I finally opened the box since this was my xmas gift. I got a Curt Class III hitch(mfg#13033) from JC Whitney. It said it was guaranteed to fit my 01ST. NOPE! The spare tire frame is in the way. I went to Curts website and typed in the mfg# and it said it won't fit an 01ST with an oversized spare tire. From what I can see now is I need the Curt class III round tube hitch (mfg#13407). Is this right? Will it fit? Can someone chime in and help me out? thanks..

What you bought fits a Sport, not Sport Trac. I have the round Curt hitch on my '02. You do need the 13407

You were obviously sent the wrong one. Use the JC Whitney guaranty and return it, you'll probably get screwed on the shipping. And then order the #13407,again, hopefully they will send the correct one to you.

The round one fits on mine fine. I don't have a spare underneath, though.
