Hope this helps, I didn't read the posts

Thanks Craig-- I just went out and poped the hood and the rubber elbow is cracked and leaking. Hopefully I can get one at Autozone saturday morning. Or maybe Todd Z knows where I can pick one up

Jim, that hose is a dealer item and can be order from your local Ford dealer. Or from our Ford sponsor. Walls Ford. Just click on Sponsors for there information

I think the best thing to do is get it from a dealer. It's not that expensive and it comes with the pipe. You can get just get an elbow from a parts place, but most won't be the right material and sometimes can get sucked shut and cause the same problem.;)

I'll go by the dealer this weekend and get the part. Stonemiser is it easy to change?

Might as well change the pcv also. If you change the whole assy. The hose will be off anyway.

Forget the dealer! Go to AutoZone or Advanced Auto and get a reinforced hose with a 90 degree elbow that matches size and cut down the hose. I think I paid $6.99 when I did that 3 years ago.

The assembly was $45. Thank you but I used an $8 water line hose with a 90. If I have to change it every year I will break even in 5 1/2 years.

BTW - I have been having erratic idle, stallling at first start-up when under 70 degrees overnight. It always smoothed out after 1 mintue or two, but it began stalling in the driveway and really getting bad when the CEL came on and 171/174 appeared. Past year I have only put 6,000 miles on it, but the mileage has been HORRIBLE - 10 mpg at best around town. exhaust has been smelly rich for a long time. I am only on my first tank of gas, but it appears to have booseed the mileage significantly. I'll track it for a while and see.

It must have been leaking for a long time, but not triggering the CEL.

Get in there and change it out!

Part #: 4L5Z6758HA. Price is $20.97 from site sponsor Torrie at Fast Parts Network.com. The PCV valve is $9.76 from Torrie.
