I wanted a precsion fit for when bed extender locked in when over the tailgate. So if your a machinist and want something simular, take 1.5 X .750 dia. alum stock, and turn down to fit inside of OEM bushing. I believe my final dia was .015. I left a .125 outide shoulder for strentght and used 3M 2216 to bond the alum bushing into OEM bushing. Now with both upper lever locks in locked postion, the extender feels more secure. I did not do this for the bottom because I have a bed mat and a precision fit would not work. Now my wife said if only I gave her the attention to details as I give my ST.
