AVIC Z1- can I use steering wheel controls?

My 08 STA has the factory 6 disc w/ steering wheel controls- one of the best upgrades from the Gen 1 and I like it. I would like to install my Pioneer AVIC Z1 w/Nav and back-up camera, but don't want to lose the steering wheel controls. Can it be done?

Yes, Metra and PAC make adaptors. They run about $50-60, and require some wiring into the OEM harness. You would want the SWI-PS from PAC:

I have the Z1 in my 07 Trac and the adapter from PAC. Steering wheel controls work just like they did from the factory.
