turning the front seats into a bench seat....center console I dont use at all, you think it's possible to be done..jus go find one that fits and try it out??

I would think one from a Ranger would work, but you might have modify the brackets on the bench seat to work in the ST.

ranger 60/40 front seat WILL WORK. what you HAVE to do is take the framing and swap em.only problem, you WILL end up with a small gap between the center seat and the passenger seat, as the interior of the ST is wider than the ranger. but not too bad, its about an inch gap, maybe a little less.

Just my .02, I went from an '02 Ranger to an '05 Trac and the first thing I noticed was that the Trac's seats were much more comfortable. Just sayin'.....

I know what your saying Johnny O.....but I would get them custom fitted and wrapped, hopefully the shop can make them feel better

If the '96 - '01 Explorer's came with a bench seat you could use it. Just a thought / my $0.02.

I am pretty sure I encountered an Explorer with a bench seat back in '97 when I bought my '95 Explorer. I was only looking at the 2nd gen X's, so it would have been a 95, 96, or 97.
