Not sport Trac related, but does anyone know of any websites that give alternator measurements and dimensions?

I am building my engine and I need an alternator. I could use a Stock Escort Alternator, but I converted the V ribbed/v belt crank pully to a V ribbed/v ribbed combo. I now need a new alternator for the engine. I could use a Ford Aspire pully onto a Escort GT alternator, but that model is 65 Amps.

A 1996 Kia Sephia 1.8L uses an 80 amp alternator with a 4 ribbeed pulley.

I wanted to compare and EGT alternator against the Sephia alternator, but the Kia alternator is special order only.

I have seen this for brake pads, but wondering if it is available for alternators.

I guess there is some ST related information in this...

I will drive the Sport Trac to buy the item...:D

Tom, if the Escort alternator has enough amperage, just get a serpentine pulley. The shaft size should be the same and there are a number of choices. Also, Delco alternators have the same shaft size. Find a local Starter & Alternator Rebuilder and they should be able to help you. A different (used) pulley shouldn't cost you more than $5.00...

The problem is that the alternator is in a place that is a PITA to replace. If I can get a larger amperage alternator for a minimal premium over the stock one, it would be worth it.

From the looks of it, it looks like it will fit. I can buy it off ebay for $55.00 with the stores listing it at $150.00.

This doesn't do you any good but on my computer at work I have a link to a Denso sight that lists all their alternators and gives complete specs on them. If I go by the shop today I'll get it for you, if not won't be until Monday.

That is fine. That would be exactly what I need. The Kia Spehia has the same engine I have.

There are a ton of shops here that rebuild OEM units to higher specs......

Any chance of getting the Escourt alt rebuilt for higher output ???

OR how about a different model Escourt alt... I know my 98 had a choice of a 60 or so and then a higher 85 or something like that.......

Could even get a 1 wire universal alt...

Just a thought..

Doing research, for $55.00 + shipping of $13.00, I can get a direct fit alternator that is 15 amps greater AND the right special pulley that never came on an Escort.
