Aluminum Tube

2003 2WD SPORT TRAC:



Can someone please tell me what the aluminum tube that is in the vicinity of the battery,

actually adjacent to the negative cable and should it have a cap on it. Looks similar to

the low port where they put AC Pro. Could this be the high side and could this be a leak

at the Schrader valve because there is no cap. I'm a novice in automotive knowledge and appreciate your help.

The cap is just there to keep junk out of the valve. It should not leak just because a cap is not in place.

On my '04 there is a small tube with a green cap. That is where a smoke machine can be hooked up. This is for checking for leaks in the EVAP system.



My high and low AC points are on the passenger side.
