Airbag light?

I took a trip into town last evening and on my way home the airbag light started blinking, after a few minutes it stayed lit. Just to verify that it was legit I disconnected the battery to try and reset everything and low and behold this morning as soon as turn on the truck it's flashing again. Has anyone ever had this happen? Just want to be sure this isnt a common thing or anyone knows what it could potentially be before I make an appointment and get bent over backwards by the dealer. (This issue is on my 01 Sport Trac)

Check the fuses for the airbags. After that, it's a crap shoot. One of the sensors could be bad. I think it saves a "code" and can be acessed just like the engine light. Not exactly sure though.

Check the air bag sensor in front of the radiator. Mine was real nasty looking. cleaned the plug and replaced the sensor no more light. good luck.
