Aftermarket H/U Pioneer AVIC Z3 and stock sub? 07 ST

Do I need a 5-volt regulate to turn on for factory installed subwoofer I have herd that it will pop if you have the stock amp and aftermarket h/u please let me know what I will need.

either a 5v regulator or normally you can get away with a 1500 - 2K resistor inline with the remote.
