Hi all,

The 60 portion of my rear seat won't fold down. The release lever

won't go far enough to release. And it seems the seat is latched at the top

where the center seat belt is.

Help please.

Well after some serious yanking I got the seat to release.

It appears the the seat lever will not go far enough

to pull the cable to release the upper latch.

Any thoughts?

Maybe there is some way to tighten the cable? I have not noticed a cable connecting the top, but then again, I haven't had to fold the rear seats down in some time!

Why pulling up, push the seat BACK to assist in releasing the internal lever.

Either a part on the handle is broken or the cable stretched, which I doubt up to the point where you have had to YANK on it recently.

Thanks for the replies.

Jerry A, No way to tighten the cable that I could find.

Coastiejoe, I tried pushing pulling and pounding. Pulling

real hard got it finally. After figuring out how it works, I found that if I

push back on the seat lightly and grab the end of the cable

and pull, the seat pops forward like it's supposed to.

The lever on the drivers side moves forward about two inches, the

passenger side only moves forward about an inch. It's not enough

to release the cable latch.

I will try to figure out why that lever won't move as far.

Thanks again

I had the same problem years ago. They had to lower the rear window and cut the lock bracket with a saw to get the seat down. There was a bad cable that had to be replaced, the lock bracket, and the plastic that covers behind the seat where they got into it with the saw. It was under warenty so no out of pocket.

I have the same problem and haven't been able to get the "60" seat down. Does anyone have any additional advice?
