Will a Bf Goodrich All-Terrain 265/75/16 Fit a 2003 ST 4x4 stock without rubbing? I don't want it to rub at all. I just want the biggest tire without having to do anything to truck. Can somebody help me out?!

Johnny,

I can't give you a definitive answer, since tires vary by manufacturer and trucks vary by construction, but...

I just mounted a set of 265/75R16 Hankook Dynapro AT/M on my 2005, and I rub all the way around - just a touch in each back corner, and a touch on the base of the plastic inner fender-wells on each side (when the steering is full locked.

I'm doing a shackle lift and torsion twist this coming weekend to aleviate the rubbing issue - and I may trim just a hair of plastic on the rear inner fender-wells.

Depends on the tire tread. With the TT/SL I had some rubbing with 265/75-16 Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo's on the right rear when making left had turns. I trimmed a little of the wheel well liner to get enough clearance. If you're at the stock ride height, you'll probably get some rubbing at that size.

Jonny, I had 265/70/16 Bridgstones on my '03 XLT ST at stock height without rubbing . 265/70's are a 32" tall tire, 265/75's are a 33" tall tire so at stock height you're better off staying with the 265/70/16.

on my 02 2wd, my wrangler TD's rubbed the plastic in passenger rear, and a little up front when turned to lock left or right... the rear issue "fixed" itself... pics in my library... the larger tire looks nice...

OOOOK, I guess I will chime in on this one.

I got 265/70 R16 BFG All-Terrains mounted a few years ago. Slight rubbing at full turn, only really experienced when backing out of tight spots. I have stock suspension height.

I should note, however, that I have added 1.25" spacers at the front and 1.5" spacers in the rear ( I had them installed before the BFG/ATs came along).

I never trimmed a dang thing on my truck and never will.

Tire wear has been impressive. I had a Mustang specialist checking out my truck and he thought the tires were brand new. I've had them for close to 2 years and they've driven quite a few KMs, but the tread is holding up strong with minimal wear.

I'd recommend them to anybody who asks.

My 265/75R16s Sport Kings rub on the sway bar a little, couldn't tell except for the "clean" spot on it. No rubbing anywhere, but I have a body lift and rear shackles. Each tire will vary so there is no definite answer unless you find somebody with all the same specs as you including the tire(s) you're looking at.

Jerry,

265/75R16s actually are 32". In fact, when I measure them as mounted, they measure around 31-1/5" or so.

I actually considered 235/85R16s for a little while. They're a skinnier 33" that are found on Land Rovers and such. I thought that would be a good way to get a taller tire that wouldn't have any rub issues. I still kind of wish I had gone that route, but I'm not sure how they would have looked.

I think my next tire will be 35s, no matter what it takes.

If you wanna go 35"'s I'd go with the SAS in the front and SOS in rear like Chad did on his. When I pay mine off that's in the plans, not sure if I'm doing springs or a 3 or 4 link setup in the front. I hate the limitations I have with the IFS on these. First IFS truck I've owned and for road driving it's great but any trailin' it sucks.

Thanks Dan,

I wanted a stock-look but MUCH more aggressive than what they look like coming out of the factory.

I agree with you, it should have been born looking that way - probably would have been more successful in sales too!

To be honest, Shaun and Graham's Sport Tracs are two of the main reasons I decided I had to have a Sport Trac. I agree that's how they should have come from the factory. Thanks for the inspiration!

Jonny, my advice is to pick out some 265s you like and put them on. Even if you get a little bit of rub, you won't regret it.

Thanks guys! I think I might go with some 265/70/16s just to make sure they dont rub.

Graham Ritter your truck looks bad ass. Exactly what I want!

I think the black rims are what add to that.

:btddhorse:Hi all , I just recently got Oem factory ranger rims to replace my stock sheet metal rims. They are currently rusting for some reason and are pretty sketchy. I have tt/shackles do you guys think I will have a problem fitting 265/75/16's?
