2007 MP3 jack?

Hi everybody. I recently purchased an 07 trac after retiring my 02 which has 238K on it. I am wondering what looks like an MP3 or earbud jack on the front of my console is for? It is next to the 12V outlet. I tried plugging in my MP3 but it doesn't seem to do anything.

What swshawaii said....just make sure you select the AUX button on the stereo.

You may need to have something plugged in and active to the jack before you can select AUX as an input source. My '07 was made before the AUX in was available so I don't have it. On my wife's '06 Lexus there is one and the thing plugged in has to be active before AUX in can be selected by the head unit.

When I press aux the sirius settings are displayed.

I have the input jack but when I follow the directions the line in option is never displayed when I push the aux. button.
