So I have a 2005 sport trac xlt with approximately 165,000 miles on it. Transmission won’t engage in drive or reverse. I am going to rebuild it and want to ensure that I won’t have to do it again. I regularly tow a 5x10’ trailer roughly around 3,000-4,500lbs. So my question is what can I do to beef up the transmission to support what I tow and not have to worry about having to rebuild it in another 75,000-120,000 miles??
